This Australian town, well known as a jumping off point to the NSW snowfields, has received a bit of a boost in profile recently, with a movie released of the same name, funnily enough, set in Jindabyne.
Friends of mine are using their time off next week to head to this town and I was wondering what one actually does, when it isn't snowing on that mountain nearby.
The mountain tends to still be the feature, snow or no snow. Kosciuszko National Park is really the place to go and climbing part of Mt Kosciuszko is part of the appeal. Walking is the staple for leisure activities in the summer, but if the great outdoors is your thing, you may want to go fishing, whitewater rafting, or riding of the mountain bike.
If you'd prefer to leave adventure to others however, Jindabyne town is quite quaint and provides a rather quite and relaxed holiday atmosphere.
There is heaps of accommodation from the caravan park to the self-contained apartment/cabin arrangement.
If you're looking for snow in the semi-aptly named Snowy Mountains, you may want to leave that until about August.
